On offer is an interesting group of five, original, full-size medals awarded to Alfred J. Taylor who served with the Notts. & Derby, 22nd London and Essex Regiments The medals are: British War Medal & Victory Medal These are correctly impressed 106247 PTE. A.J. TAYLOR. NOTTS. & DERBY. R. India General Service Medal 1908-1935 with the clasp “North West Frontier 1930-31” This is correctly impressed 6001743 CPL. A. TAYLOR. ESSEX R. Geo.V Jubilee Medal 1935 This is unnamed as issued Geo.Vl (1st type) Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal with “Regular Army” suspender This is correctly impressed 6001743 SJT. A.J. TAYLOR. ESSEX R. The five medals, which have been court-mounted for display, are in reasonable condition. There are some surface scratches and edge bruises, particularly to the British War Medal & Victory Medal – which are also polished. The Medal Index Card (photocopy supplied) confirms the WW1 medal entitlement and shows that he also served with the 22nd London Regiment. The India General Service Medal Roll (photocopy of entry supplied) shows 2nd Battalion Essex Regiment and confirms the medal & clasp entitlement.
